Report: Hermes Sample Sale

I'd already missed the first three days and didn't know if I was going to get a chance to go. However, I managed to crawl out of bed early this morning for the last day of the Hermes Sample Sale, here in New York City.

To avoid the long lines, I got there an hour and a half early. There were seven people ahead of me, including a mature women who had arrived five hours before the scheduled 10 am opening! Once it was time to go in they only let 20 people in at a time. Only wallets and cell phones were allowed on the floor; all bags had to be checked. I asked to take pictures to share with you all but I was given a flat "No."

After I finally got through the checkpoint, the fun began. I saw shoes, boots, handbags, small leather goods, clothing, and, of course, scarves. I have a rule that I strongly adhere to when I shop for designer merchandise: Buy only what's practical. One shouldn't pay a small fortune for somthing if it's going to sit in the closet because it's no longer in fashion. I settled on a simple, blue wool, slim skirt that will never go out of style. I can't wait to wear it. I'm counting the days!

Buzzing off for now...
