Thank God It's Glam: Friday Musings

I've decided to try something new by devoting my Friday post to odds and ends, things that have been on my mind. Here's what's on it today:

I was looking through the new issue of W this week and, two items in The Month In Fashion column caught my eye. The first was the news that Vera Wang is teaming up with Kohl's to offer a budget clothing line called Very Vera, which will be sold at 900 Kohl's stores next Fall. So another high-end designer throws her hat into the low-end ring. I don't know about anyone else but, in most cases, I'd rather have nothing from a designer than have something from their low-end line. I do like Isaac Mizrahi's Target line, though. I bought a couple of nice suits from it this year. I'm looking forward to see what Very Vera looks like. However, since I don't have a Kohl's near me, I doubt I'll be able to see it in person. The other item in the column I found interesting was the little tidbit about Kelly Grey, the former St John model. She has now teamed up with Motley Crue guitarist Nikki Sixx to create a line of men's clothing. That, in itself, it's not really interesting to me. What I was suprised to read was that Grey was also the Creative Director for St John. Just how creative was she? Putting herself in all the ads doesn't sound very creative to me.

One more thing on my mind-- Performer-Perfumer Sali Oguri's next show. If you're going to be in New York City tomorrow night, stop by Siberia to hear her and her band. She'll be giving out perfume samples to the first ten people! Scroll down this page for all the particulars.

Buzzing off for now...
