Little Pink Skirt
I've been wanting to check out Bust Magazine since I discovered it on MySpace last year. Last week I spotted it a Whole Foods Store, Gwen Stefani on the cover, peeking at me from under a black Fedora. I dropped it into my basket, and when I got home I discovered a really cool article about buying vintage clothing online ("Oldies But Goodies: A Savvy Girl's Guide to Buying Vintage Online"). The writer of the article, Agathe Molvik, also included her top ten online vintage shops.
I'm a tall, full-figured woman who loves vintage clothing. If you know anything about vintage clothing, tall and full-figured doesn't usually mix well with it. I love broswing in vintage shops but it is a rare occasion when I can actually walk out of one of them with a purchase. That's why I was curious about these top ten online vintage shops. A few of them actually claimed to carry clothing for all sizes! One of them is LittlePinkDress.com. I logged on and found this cute Lilly Pulitzer Skirt:

On a good day, I take a size 12 skirt. This skirt was listed as size 16, but if they were correct about its waist measurement, 30-32 inches, it wouldn't be too large for me. I took a chance and ordered it. I'm glad I did! It fits perfectly. The ordering process was quick and painless as well. I got an email the next morning from Patricia at Little Pink Dress thanking me for the order and promising that it would ship that day. Later that week it arrived and I had my very first Lilly Pulitzer. Now I just have to wait for Spring to get here so I can wear it!
I don't know if I'd really categorize this particular skirt as "vintage" per say. Maybe vintage-inspired. In any case, I'm glad I was able to find it. Maybe you'll find something you like at Little Pink Dress as well.
Buzzing off for now...
