NY Fashion Week, Fall 07: Alice Ritter
I had announced the other day that I was going to see the Alice Ritter show today at 2 pm. Yesterday morning I found out the show was actually yeterday afternoon, which turned out to be much better for my schedule.
This was my first ever Fashion Week show. It wasn't at The Tents; it was one of the off-site shows. Not that it mattered at all to me. I was just thrilled to be at any Fashion Week event! The Alice Ritter show took place at the Players Club, which, according to a Q&A with Ms Ritter in The Daily, was chosen because its interior was the perfect setting for this collection, inspired by Room With a View and Lewis Carroll photos. Definitely, very Edwardian.

The 5X7 note card I picked up explaining this collection included this sentence: "...this collection's focus is on the charmingly ethereal and romantically inclined woman. With its soft lines and finely tailored craftsmanship, the clothes are equally imbued with a particular sense of masculinity embedded amid the feminine mystique." Personally, I tend to be drawn to this type of clothing. I shy away from anything that is overly feminine. Alice Ritter's Fall 2007 Collection is one that I would definitely like to have in my wardrobe.
Buzzing off for now...
