NY Fashion Week, Fall 07: Carolina Herrera

When I think of Carolina Herrera, I think of beautiful clothing for mature but fashionable, wealthy women. Women like Herrera herself, who is often photographed "in her own designs," as the captions always proclaim. She unveilled her Fall 2007 collection yesterday and, for the most part, I can see her wearing these as well.

I have an affinity for muffs, those fur covers that kept the hands of Victorian women warm. These days women are obviously too busy to sit around with their hands "confined" that way. Maybe Herrera was thinking about today's woman when she designed the fur-cuffed jacket. Just a thought. Nice collection.
