Is Your Security At Risk?

Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, is three days away. Do you have enough money to spend? Better yet, do you have enough protection against losing your money or, worse, your identity?

I attended a luncheon sponsored by Staples, the office supply store last week, and learned about a quiz on their website which tests a participant's security risk. I took it, and answered such questions as "How often do you back up your computer hard drive?" and "Do you carry your social security number in your wallet?" My risk was pretty low but, the quiz showed that there's still room for improvement. Take the quiz yourself and see how you do.

The quiz wasn't the only thing mentioned at the luncheon, of course. Staples showed off some of the tech products they're offering for the holiday season, including the Staples MailMate M3 Shredder. This is a great compact machine that does the work of a full size 12-sheet shredder. It even cuts through CDs/DVDs, credit cards, staples and small paper clips. I already have the smaller version of this machine, but for $79.99, an upgrade to the M3 might not be a bad idea.
